Long Tide retreat is a wonderful healing space that both Dale and Jackie run as a guest house in Skenes Creek. The guest house is situated 5 minutes back off the great ocean road, high in the hills amongst the tall trees in the Otway National Park. The location is magical, the views are stunning, and the retreat space is so relaxing.
Dale lives adjacent the guest house, and treats patients from the local community surrounding Apollo Bay 1-2 days a week.
Dale has seen many situations over his 16 years of working, where people getting treated for different reasons/conditions, aren’t able to heal fully as they don’t have access to enough rest. This can be particularly true post-treatment, where patients can really require strict rest for 2-3 days.
When treatment takes place, whether it be for an acute or a chronic presentation, the biggest responsibility of the patient is towards rest. Self-care is imperative to the healing process. Today’s society pace often simply doesn’t allow people to step back, and look after themselves the way their health is asking them to.
The guest house as an adjunct to Osteopathic care, has been a vision of Dale’s for many years. It is his hope and his wish that this space will allow people to come and get treated, and access deep rest. Dale believes this combination allows the individual the best opportunity to heal, and to get the most out of the dynamic exchange that occurs during a treatment.
Along with being supplied with some fresh seasonal organic food from the self-sufficient garden, the guest/s will be free to take walks through the 170-acre property. Soaks in the magical rain water fed bath, warmth from the wood fire, and rest in the comfortable king bed. It’s an opportunity to look after you.
For those who would like or simply need some extra help with healing, Dale is available for treatments as a part of a stay at the guest house at Long Tide Retreat. For more information on the guest house itself, please visit this link: Long Tide
